We charge our fees on the basis of time taken to do the work and the level of skill and expertise required. This is based on the following hourly rates.

Principal – £165

Senior Accountant/Taxation specialist – £105

Administrator – £55

We will provide an estimate of the time and cost to do the work in advance.

Every situation is different but typical charges to obtain a Grant of Probate would be:

Small Estate no Inheritance Tax  Form PA1P  IHT205 – £850

Larger Estate  – assets  in savings and investments no property – IHT forms – £2,500

Larger Estate –   assets mostly in savings, investments and property to be sold IHT forms – £4,500

In addition there is the probate application fee of £273

We aim to provide you with a fully satisfactory service, and Peter Allen as Engagement Director will seek to ensure that this is so.  If, however, you are unable to deal with any difficulty through him and his team please contact Peter Allen of Pace Accountants, Noble House, Eaton Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 7UB.

We undertake to look into any complaint carefully and promptly and to do all we can to explain the position to you.  We will acknowledge your letter within five business days of its receipt and endeavour to deal with your complaint within eight weeks.

If we do not answer your complaint to your satisfaction you may of course take up the matter with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Legal Ombudsman. Complaints to the Legal Ombudsman should be made within six years of the act or omission or within three years of you becoming aware of the issue, and in either case within six months of our written response to your complaint to us. For consumer agreements, should we be unable to resolve your complaint you may also be able to refer your complaint to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider to try and reach a resolution. We will provide details of an ADR provider if we cannot resolve your complaint using our internal procedures. This is in addition to your ability to complain to ICAEW.

In the unlikely event that we cannot meet our liabilities to you, you may be able to seek a grant from ICAEW’s Compensation Scheme. Generally, applications for a grant must be made to ICAEW within 12 months of the time you become aware, or reasonably ought to have been aware of the loss.
